Recreational Vehicle
More commonly referred to as an RV plate, this
class of tag came about when the legislature authorized the DMV to issue
1974 renewal stickers inscribed with a “Recreational Vehicle”
designation to all persons who requested them for vehicles used
primarily for recreational purposes. These were issued without extra
charge, and in lieu of a regular 1974 sticker at the time of application
for 1974 registration. These special 1974 RV stickers are found on
Truck, Trailer and
House Trailer plates (which are white-on-green 1971 base plates in all cases). The following year (1975) the purpose-made RV plate was introduced and continues to this day. |
