Acequias Sangre Viva
|
Acequias are for the most part relatively small
ditches used for delivery of water, primarily for irrigation but also for
other purposes. Some of New Mexico’s acequias have been in existence for
two hundred years or more and continue to be used today. Legislation
passed in 2023 authorized the issuance of a special motor vehicle
registration plate to express support for acequia and community ditch
associations. The plate is to be made available for issuance as of
January 1, 2024. |
