G.N. Bryant, believed to be the man standing at far left, was operating a parcel delivery business in Albuquerque in 1912 when this picture was taken. His place of business was the horse-drawn “office car” immediately behind the five messenger boys. Both the office car and the second automobile from left bear the name of Bryant’s company. The automobile at far left is a 20 H.P. Ford roadster that was registered to S.W. Henry of Albuquerque on December 10, 1912. The 1912 license plate #866 was mounted on the front of the car, despite the explicit requirement in the 1912 Automobile License Law which stipulated that the plate be “... securely attached to a conspicuous place on the rear end of [the] automobile.” Courtesy of Albuquerque Museum, Cobb collection # PA0990.13.239.
